Vintage Epiphone Bass Guitars Can you recommend an acoustic guitar with a fat bass sound and projects well amplified?...?
...Martin? Taylor? Yamaha? I had a 70s vintage Epiphone repaired and the repairman replaced the entire face. It looks great. It sounds like a tin box. I play in church every week and choose not to amplify my instrument. Being heard wasn't' a problem before the repairs. Now, if I strum hard enough to be heard, it sounds like garbage. So I'm in the market. Martin D40?
but other than that, the two guitars I have had any close dealings with are a Guild (don't know the model - it's a dreadnought style body) and an Alvarez-Yairi WY-1. the Guild has decent projection, but the Alvarez had a much richer sound to it. it also has a very nice internal pickup and preamp system should you choose to amplify. very good acoustic sound, even amplified.
